Textured Breakfast Set #11 with Iced Leaf in Winter Blue

Breakfast dinnerware set, including a small dinner plate and a 10-ounce mug with a handle. Each piece contains an imprint of a field maple leaf collected from one of the trees in my front yard. The imprinted leaf is atop a textured surface created by colored clay slip in various shades of blue (royal blue, sky blue, and turquoise) and white, which was applied with a natural sea sponge. The veins of the leaf are filled with a deep bluish-black underglaze, and several strokes of watercolor blue provide depth to the leaf. The inside of the mug and the rim of the plate are lined with a deep mango orange, which is the complementary color of blue on the color wheel.
