Malik, Cherokee Healer Wins First Place in 3D Competition
Studio at 432 is pleased to announce that the portrait sculpture Malik, Cherokee Healer won first place in the 3D category in Light Space Time's 16th Annual "Figurative" Online Art Exhibition competition! This piece was the final project of my portrait sculpture class with a live model from last semester at Windgate Art School, affiliated with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Malik is constructed of fired terracotta clay, finished with a bronze overlay, and sprayed with a light coating of blue patina to age her ever-so-slightly.

There were 455 entries from 24 different countries represented in this particular competition. The exhibition was divided into three media categories: Painting and Other Media, Photography and Digital, and 3-Dimensional/Sculpture. Additionally, the exhibition included 12 entries deemed "Best in Show," the selections from which considered all three media categories, and many works that earned the status of "Special Merit and Special Recognition" awards for outstanding art.
Winners of Light Space Time's 16th Annual "Figurative" Online Art Exhibition competition can be viewed here for the next three months. During this time, winners of the competition are marketed to over 31,000 customers and clients. Please consider taking a moment to view all of the wonderful pieces of artwork submitted to this prestigious exhibition, and if you find one (or more) that speaks to you, you will find the artist's webpage or contact information for purchasing the artwork at the bottom of the photo. As always, your support of artists is greatly appreciated, so thank you so much!
